MBA Graduate, BJ Schaknowski, will speak Tuesday, March 1 in Studio 225 at the University of Georgia’s Society of Entrepreneurs Event.

The Society of Entrepreneurs is a club that

aims to lead students in the UGA

community on a journey to success.

Through networking, learning and sharing

goals, students are able to benefit from

these entrepreneurs and their experiences.

SOE has allowed Natalie Baddour, former SOE president, to determine her career goals and personal passions.

“We get a lot of people from different backgrounds and a lot of people are just really passionate about doing something outside of the box and kind of have that hunger to do something that's out of the ordinary,” said Babbour, former SOE president.

The speakers that the organization hosts are UGA Alumni and local names who want to give back to their community. Schaknowski is a former UGA student who graduated from the Terry College of Business with his MBA. His connection with Donald Chambers, an entrepreneurship professor at UGA, has brought him back to speak.

BJ Schaknowski is the CEO for Symplr, a healthcare software solutions company. With over 20 years of experience, Schaknowski has experience with global leadership roles across various operations. His dedication has contributed to his success in the workforce.

Speakers that display empowerment and determination stick out to students. Former speakers Katie Foley-Jacobs, Cheeky Peach owner, and Bailey Marsh, Bailey Bakes owner, have created an impact on current SOE members. Schaknowski’s story will help students gain further insight on building an image through drive and passion.

“A lot of these entrepreneurs are very like personable people and so you definitely get to see that you know you look at like a CEO and it seems very intimidating but you also get to see that they’re people at the end of the day that are figuring out just like the rest of us,” said Baddour.

Why I Wrote The Story

I wrote this story to highlight BJ Schaknowski's career and success. Being able to talk with Natalie Baddour prior to this event was extremely beneficial. This was my first real interview so I was able to take what I've learned in class and use it in a real situation. Natalie provided me and my beatmates with useful information on the SOE organization and Schaknowski himself. I really enjoyed this experience and writing about this program. Learning about SOE and their purpose has increased my interest in joining it!
